On Tuesday 2 November 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 409 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections since Friday; there were five additional deaths over the long weekend, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 848.

409 Luxembourg residents tested positive from a total of 7,326 tests carried out over the last 96 hours. Included in these figures are the eleven new infections reported on Tuesday derived from 439 tests carried out the day before, representing 1.73 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.51%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 138.29. 

A total of 39 people are in hospital with the virus, including twelve patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 2,035 active infections known, whilst a total of 79,209 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.05.

A total of 817,070 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (433,961 first doses, 383,109 second doses). A total of 422,990 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
