On Tuesday 10 August 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 42 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 825 fatalities (no new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.
42 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 4,306 tests carried out the day before, representing 6.62 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.98%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 37.57.
A total of 21 people are in hospital with the virus, including six patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Monday 9 August 2021, there are currently 815 active infections known, whilst a total of 72,797 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.98.
A total of 735,670 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (397,601 first doses, 338,069 second doses); 460 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 2,363 received their second dose on Monday. A total of 371,611 people are now fully vaccinated.
The Health Ministry no longer communicates data relating to COVID-19 on weekends.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
