On Friday 10 July 2026, Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg (JEL) announced that the Smart4Leak team from Lycée Guillaume Kroll in Luxembourg was awarded Second Place in the JA Europe Innovation of the Year Award (University Level) at the GEN-E 2026 entrepreneurship festival in Riga, Latvia.
Daniel Francisco Silva of the Smart4Leak team also received a JA Europe Alumni Leadership Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership throughout the competition.
GEN-E 2026 is Europe's largest entrepreneurship festival for young people and took place in Riga, Latvia, from Tuesday 7 to Thursday 9 July 2026. It brought together the continent's most talented student entrepreneurs, innovators and future business leaders and. The festival also included the annual European championship organised by Junior Achievement Europe.
Smart4Leak is a team from Lycée Guillaume Kroll comprising Anton Savitchi, Diogo José Bento Soares, Alexandre Greven and Daniel Francisco Silva. As part of JEL's Startup Programme, they developed an innovative sensor that detects water leaks in real time by analysing pipe vibrations.
