On Saturday 29 August 2026, Luxembourg's Grand Ducal Police reported the arrest of a suspected bicycle thief after a stolen bicycle was tracked from Wasserbillig to Luxembourg City.
On Friday 28 August 2026, at around 16:40, police received a report of a bicycle theft on Route de Luxembourg in Wasserbillig. As the bicycle was equipped with an AirTag, it was located shortly afterwards on Rue de Strasbourg in the Luxembourg-Gare and recovered by police.
Further investigations indicated that a possible suspect was still in the area. A police patrol located and checked the man.
During a search, police seized a large quantity of cannabis and hashish from the suspect.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the police arrested the man and brought before an investigating judge.
