On Friday 7 August 2026, Luxair reported it is monitoring the ongoing strike by ground handling staff at Barcelona Airport.
Luxair said the industrial action, which began on Tuesday 4 August, is affecting check-in, baggage handling and boarding operations in particular, and could lead to disruptions across all airport operations.
The airline confirmed it is closely monitoring the situation and taking all possible steps to minimise disruption and maintain the smoothest service possible. Based on current planning, Luxair flights to and from Barcelona are expected to operate, although delays may occur.
Luxair said it will communicate any changes directly to affected Luxair and LuxairTours customers using the contact details provided in their booking. Passengers travelling to or from Barcelona on these dates are strongly advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure, as longer waiting times may occur.
Luxair apologised for any inconvenience that may result from circumstances beyond the airline’s control and thanked passengers for their understanding.
