On Wednesday 22 July 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two drivers had their licenses revoked following a speeding incident where the driver was recorded travelling at 224 km/h, and a hit-and-run incident which involved a cyclist.
According to the police, during a traffic check on the A13 on Wednesday 22 July, police recorded a vehicle travelling at 224 km/h on a section of road where the speed limit was 110 km/h.
Officers immediately pursued the vehicle, which was stopped a short time later and removed from the road.
The driver's licence was confiscated at the scene and a report was filed.
The police also reported that at approximately 19:30 on Tuesday 21 July they were notified of a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a cyclist on the road between Rippweiler and Useldange.
According to initial findings, the cyclist was struck by a vehicle whose driver subsequently continued driving. The cyclist sustained injuries to both legs and was taken to hospital for further examination. Initial findings indicate that there is no danger to life.
As part of the ensuing investigation, the damaged vehicle and the suspected driver were located shortly afterwards in Useldange. An alcohol test was administered and returned a positive result.
The driver's licence was subsequently confiscated and a temporary driving ban was imposed. A report was filed.
