The Grand Ducal Police have reported that two men were arrested following separate violent incidents in Troisvierges and Luxembourg-Belair on Saturday 18 and Monday 20 July 2026.

The first incident was reported on Saturday night after a man reported to police that he had been threatened the previous evening in Troisvierges.

According to the police, the victim was led by a person known to him to a bench near the local football pitch, where a second suspect allegedly held what appeared to be a firearm against his body while the first suspect verbally threatened him. The two suspects then fled towards the railway station.

Following the launch of an investigation, one of the suspects was located by police later that morning. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office, he was arrested and brought before an investigating judge, who issued a detention warrant.

The second incident occurred at around 03:00 on Monday night, when police received a report of a seriously injured person inside a vacant residential building in Luxembourg-Belair.

Officers found a man with a deep cut to his upper arm. During the search operation launched immediately afterwards, police identified a witness and one of the suspects.

On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge. The injured man was taken to hospital for further treatment.

According to the police, two additional suspects remain at large. Investigations into the exact circumstances of the incident and the possible involvement of further individuals are ongoing.
