On Saturday 20 June 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported two arrests following a shoplifting incident in Luxembourg-Gasperich and the discovery of stolen goods on a suspect in Luxembourg Gare, on Friday 19 June 2026.

According to the police, on Friday morning they were informed of a disturbance between two men near Luxembourg Gare. A police patrol was able to locate both individuals. 

Initial information indicated that a verbal altercation had taken place after one of the men allegedly stole the other’s mobile phone. The suspect was subsequently searched, during which a laptop was seized. Further investigations revealed that the laptop had previously been stolen and that the suspect could also be linked to the theft of another mobile phone. The mobile phones and the laptop were confiscated and returned to their rightful owners.

On the instruction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.

Later, on Friday afternoon, police were informed of a theft in a shop on Boulevard FW Raiffeisen in Luxembourg–Gasperich, where the initial information indicated that a suspect had stolen cosmetic products. A police patrol was able to locate the suspect on site and stolen goods were recovered from the individual. 

On the instruction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the person was arrested and was brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Saturday 20 June.
