On Friday last, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel met Yannis Bastian, a Luxembourger who traveled 35,000km by bike on a two-and-a-half-year journey through more than 40 countries. Bastian returned to Luxembourg at the beginning of this month and made a detour to the state ministry before returning the last stage to home in his native village of Berbourg.

Yannis Bastian recounted some of his adventures to the prime minister his adventures, who congratulated him on his achievements, especially as he took advantage of this round-the-world trip to raise funds for the Kriibskrank Kanner Foundation.

“Biking solo around the world is a unique and incomparable experience that will mark you for life,” said Minister Bettel. “Combining this experience with charity for children with cancer is a very noble gesture,” he added, describing Bastian as an excellent ambassador for Luxembourg.
