The people of Luxembourg are the fifth most connected in Europe, according to results published yesterday by the European Commission in the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI), which ranks the performance of the 28 members states across a range of areas, from connectivity to digitisation of businesses and public services.

The European Commission noted that Luxembourg has reached a very high or even full degree of coverage both for fixed and fast broadband, and for mobile 4G broadband, and ranked well in the number of ICT specialists.

Prime Minister and Minister for Communications and Media Xavier Bettel welcomed the results, commending the united efforts undertaken for Luxembourg’s digital development under Digital Letzebuerg, and of the nation’s passion for digital technology.
