The City of Luxembourg and the “Just Arrived” team yesterday launched a new, fully updated and expanded edition of the practical guide for the City’s residents, “Just Arrived”.
The booklet provides a range of practical tips and tricks in English and French aimed at helping new arrivals to negotiate the administrative and other procedures that need to be worked through when settling into a new country.
Subjects include opening a bank account, a new telephone line, vehicle registration, shopping, leisure and more, and the guide aims to offer a range of answers to the real questions and concerns new residents may have.
A detailed approach to bureaucratic procedures is also included, covering information on registration, naturalisation and citizenship, electoral rolls, identity cards, passports and certificates.
Beyond bureaucracy, the guide places a lot of emphasis on everyday living too, including cultural sites and events, sports facilities, bars, restaurants, green spaces, groups and more, in order to help people reach out and fit in more easily.
The guide is available free of charge at the Bierger Centre on Place Guillaume II, which is open daily between 08:00 and 17:00.
