The City of Luxembourg has issued a warning to citizens against using the Zertifica website — www.etatcivil.lu — to obtain copies of official documents such as birth, marriage and death certificates.
According to the city’s municipal administration, the company, which is not linked with municipal authorities, charges €40 for obtaining these documents, which are only subjected to a €2 tax. Citizens and residents can request documents online via the municipal website -- www.vdl.lu -- or in person at Bierger-Centre, 44 Place Guillaume II / 2 Rue Notre Dame.
