Police say one person has died and two more admitted to hospital following this morning's train crash at the junction between Bettembourg and Zoufftgen train stations, now the second fatal train collision in Luxembourg in just over ten years.
A "multiple victims plan" has been triggered by authorities with about 100 police and rescue personnel on the ground.
A psychological support group is also on site.
In 2006, two trains collided head on after one track of a double-track line was taken out of service. Six people, including the drivers of both trains, were killed, with 20 more injured.
