The Luxembourg Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has said it will support a teacher wrongly identified by Lëtzebuerg Privat newspaper as having been charged with possession of child pornography.
According to the Ministry, on 27 January 2017 the weekly newspaper published the name and photograph of a person represented as the teacher at Useldange Primary School who was charged with possession of child pornography this January.
The person identified in the story was in fact the replacement for a staff member who was relieved of his duties following the charges laid against him.
The Ministry said that it will provide the wrongly identified teacher all the support necessary for any legal steps he intends to take against Lëtzebuerg Privat.
The Ministry vehemently condemned Lëtzebuerg Privat's actions, which it said seriously violate the rules of professional ethics and undermine the reputation and honour of the teacher in question.
