Credit: Stëmm vun der Strooss
On Monday 3 August 2026, Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss, which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable individuals, reported it had received a €1,000 donation from the Gaart an Heem Dol an Nacher section.
According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, the money was raised during the Wësch Festival, a celebration based on the traditional Luxembourgish Léiffrawëschdag ("Bouquet Day of the Holy Virgin"), and the donation was presented on Wednesday 22 July 2026 in Nacher in the presence of Goesdorf Mayor Jean Paul Mathay.
The organisation noted that the festival centres on the creation of a bouquet containing up to 35 different plants. Once blessed, the bouquet was traditionally hung in stables to protect livestock from disease and misfortune. It is also regarded as a good luck charm believed to bring prosperity, Stëmm vun der Strooss added that the donation will be used to strengthen the organisation's digital capabilities within its Schweesdreps and Caddy reintegration workshops located in the um Woeller industrial zone in Sanem.
The organisation also noted that around 100 people work in the two workshops, where they recovered, processed and redistributed 340 tonnes of food, while also washing 100 tonnes of sports kits for 40 sports clubs.
