Luxembourg’s Roads and Bridges Administration announced on Thursday 23 July 2026 that from Friday 31 July the left-turn option at the Lankelz junction on the A4 motorway will be permanently removed for safety reasons.

According to the administration, from approximately 22:00 on Friday 31 July, the option for vehicles travelling on the A4 motorway from Audun-le-Tiche and wishing to join the A13 motorway towards Pétange by turning left will no longer be available.

The administration stated that the measure is intended to improve road safety at the junction, as the left-turn manoeuvre has resulted in hazardous situations and traffic accidents at Lankelz.

Motorists travelling to the A13 motorway towards Pétange will instead be directed to take exit no. 7 "Raemerich" from the B40, then follow the N37 to interchange no. 4 "Ehlerange", where they can join the A13 motorway towards Pétange.

Permanent directional signage will be installed to guide road users along the entire diversion route.
