On Thursday 23 July 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two driving licences were revoked following alcohol-related incidents which occurred on Wednesday 22 July.

According to the initial information, at approximately 20:40 on Wednesday the police were notified of a vehicle driving erratically in a zigzag pattern on the A7 motorway and which had brushed against a crash barrier. The vehicle was stopped and checked a short time later behind the Grouft Tunnel. As the vehicle showed fresh signs of damage, an alcohol test carried out on the driver which returned a positive result. Following this the driver’s licence was withdrawn.

On the same evening, the police were notified of a badly damaged stationary vehicle in Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, with the driver sitting behind the wheel and appearing confused. During the vehicle check, police officers found a woman behind the wheel who showed signs of alcohol consumption. An alcohol test was carried out and returned a positive result. The driver’s licence was immediately withdrawn.

The police confirmed that in both cases a report was drawn up.
