The National Library of Luxembourg, more widely known as its French abbreviation BnL, has announced that it is reintroducing its home loan service from Monday 4 May 2020.

From next week, library users will be able to borrow up to three books simultaneously via www.a-z.lu; the BnL will send the three documents ordered by post to the homes of the persons concerned. The relaunch of the home loan service is part of Luxembourg's progressive COVID-19 lockdown exit strategy.

Registration for the BnL is free and can be done via email at inscription@bnl.etat.lu. As a reminder, accounts which were about to expire have been automatically extended until 15 September and all outstanding loans extended until 1 July 2020.

The on-site collection of reserved documents is not yet authorised. On the other hand, the return of borrowed documents can be carried out 24/7 via the automatic device outside the BnL building in Luxembourg-Kirchberg (37D Avenue John F. Kennedy).

Remote assistance is available via email: reference@bnl.etat.lu / pret@bnl.etat.lu or via tel.: 26559-103.
