On Friday 29 April 2022, Luxembourg's Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy Department announced the appointment of Geraldine Knudson as the new Director of economic interest group MyConnectivity.

MyConnectivity was created as part of the implementation of the national strategy for “ultra-high speed” communications networks. The creation of the group responds to the government's strategic desire to accelerate and improve the connectivity of private households and businesses in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Geraldine Knudson brings a broad experience in the promotion of complex ecosystems and has a developed sense for the federation of actors with varied needs. This forms an excellent basis for the launch of MyConnectivity. "I am very proud to be part of this initiative", said Ms Knudson, "this mission is part of the government's strategy and it will now be a question of tackling the challenges of connectivity in close collaboration with all the actors concerned”.

After an experience in the satellite communications sector, Ms Knudson was appoined City Manager at the Ville de Luxembourg, and she also served as CEO of the publisher Maison Moderne.

Ms Knudson will take office on 1 June 2022. During the year, the recruitment of the team will continue in order to be able to embark on concrete projects related to connectivity strategies in Luxembourg.

The MyConnectivity group was created jointly by the State, via the Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy Service, and LU-CIX Management GIE, which contributes with its close contact with players in the field of telecommunications and connectivity.

MyConnectivity aims to support access to high-performance connectivity for all, residents and businesses, and to unlock the socio-economic potential of the information society, in particular through the implementation of national 5G strategies and ultra-high speed communication.
