On Tuesday 5 September 2017, the Michel Reis Japan Quartet makes its debut in New York City, performing at Tomi Jazz from 21:40 - 23:00.
Worldwide acclaimed Luxembourg pianist/composer/leader, Michel Reis has been playing in Japan with Akihiro Nishigushi (reeds), Takashi Sugawa (bass), and Shun Ishiwaka (drums) for several years.
For the whole month of May 2017, the Michel Reis Japan Quartet toured extensively throughout Japan, performing in various venues as well as at the Takatsuki Jazz Street Festival in Osaka. In addition, they also recorded their first album that was released August 2017 on the Japanese label Mocloud Records.
As a closing to their successful tour, The Michel Reis Japan Quartet performed in Luxembourg for the first time at the famed “Like a Jazz Machine Festival” on 28 May 2017.
