Luxembourg's Department of Media, Telecommunications and Digital Policy has announced the launch of a second call for 5G projects.

The launch forms part of the national 5G strategy and comes ahead of the “Connecting tomorrow - 5G, broadband and beyond” conference, which is taking place in Luxembourg-Kirchberg from 5 to 7 October 2021.

Projects can be proposed in the following three categories:

  • 5G showcase
  • Communication science
  • Innovative conference coverage

The projects concerned must be of a non-commercial nature and be coordinated by entities registered in Luxembourg. They must have a minimum duration of two months and end no later than 28 February 2022.

An information session is scheduled for 7 July 2021 at 11:00. Parties interested in submitting a project are invited to register for this session via email: telecom@smc.etat.lu. Participation in this session is not compulsory.

Projects must be submitted no later than 15 July 2021 at 12:00 (noon).

The detailed criteria for possible aid will be published on the website smc.gouvernement.lu.
