Launched at the ICT Spring 2022 tech conference in Luxembourg City on Thursday 30 June 2022, Luxembourg startup Fiveoffices announced an online matchmaking marketplace for vacant offices with companies seeking flexible space to rent.

The platform currently offers more than 100 offices, ranging from 10 m2 to 1,000 m2 and in a variety of design styles, that are available for short-term rental periods of two to 24 months.

The new startup, co-founded by Benjamin Tillier, Robert Glaesener and Daniel Schneider, aims to generate positive environmental impact from a better utilisation of existing office space, while at the same time lowering costs for hosts and tenants.

All too often businesses are either sitting on too much space in anticipation of future growth or too little space following a period of rapid expansion,” said Mr Tillier, Co-Founder and CEO. “Fiveoffices helps companies quickly and seamlessly find the right office space and the right rental duration, with benefits for both hosts and tenants.”

The platform is best suited for businesses that are growing quickly or whose size fluctuates regularly, require higher levels of privacy or prefer to have a space where they can better build their own identity.

On the other hand, companies that sublease their excess space can lower their operating costs as well as generate revenue through the rental payments. Utilising existing but redundant office space will also reduce waste and CO2 emissions.

Additionally, the Fiveoffices platform will facilitate contracting, guarantees, rental duration management and rent indexation and other administrative services. “We see this as a triple- win solution,” Mr Tillier added. “Fiveoffices is good for hosts, good for guests and good for the environment.”

The startup plans to expand to at least three more European markets and recruit up to 30 additional team members by the end of 2022. Fiveoffices currently has ten employees.
