Kids Life Skills ASBL, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation that offers logical thinking and computer coding workshops to children aged 4-13, has announced upcoming events at PwC and Game of Code.

A recent partnership with PwC Luxembourg has allowed Kids Life Skills to expand its class offer. Since January 2020, the PwC Luxembourg Academy in Cloche d'Or has been hosting weekend coding classes.

Kids Life Skills CEO Adi Berland commented: “PwC Luxembourg have generously given us use of their beautiful Academy space, which includes eight classrooms and a large comfortable lounge area for our parents to wait while enjoying coffee and snacks. This has also allowed us to offer our activities to many more children and grow from seven to twelve groups. Most importantly, it has given us the possibility to enable children from low income families to access our classes".

Tal Ribon, Partner at PwC, added: "Kids Life Skills is a great initiative, which fits our upskilling and digital agenda and at the same time gives us another opportunity to contribute to society, support integration and provide new skills to our next generation".

In addition, this year's Game of Code Hackathon, organised by Farvest, will be hosting children from Kids Life Skills on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 April 2020 at the Forum Campus Geesseknäppchen. Four Kids Life Skills teams of four children from the 7-10 age group and a Kids Life Skills coach will participate in this event, allowing the children to experience working as a team on a chosen challenge out of the three proposed. The teams will develop a digital product to be presented at the end of the second day.

Adi Berland commented: “We were happy to be invited to take part in Game of Code as it exposes them to the most unique and mesmerising atmosphere and giving us a wonderful opportunity to inspire the children in our classes”.

Ronen Even Tzur, an experienced FinTech entrepreneur and founder of Kids Life Skills, added: “We want kids to better understand what they can do with technology as creators and not only as passive consumers”.

Ronen Even Tzur launched Kids Life Skills in December 2018 with three classes in English to introduce children to the concepts of logic, programming and algorithms through interactive hands-on games and activities. In one year, the organisation has grown to a team of thirteen, including ten coding instructors and coaches, with twelve groups of children taught in English, French, and Luxembourgish.

With the next trimester beginning in April 2020, the organisation will also fulfil one of its major goals of inclusiveness, making class fees affordable for low income families to make sure that every child who is interested can take part. In addition to holding weekend classes during the school year, Kids Life Skills also offers workshops for children, parents and educators on different topics related to digital skills.

For additional information, parents and children are invited to attend one of the following free information sessions at PwC Luxembourg (2 Rue Gerhard Mercator, L-2182): on Sunday 1 March at 15:30 (children aged 7-13) and on Sunday 8 March at 15:30 (children aged 7-10) and at 16:30 (children aged 11-13).
