On Saturday 12 October 2024, Luxembourg's men's football team played their third match in the current UEFA Nations League 2024/25, League C Group C3, away to Bulgaria.

Following their opening two defeats in September, away to Northern Ireland and at home to Belarus, Luxembourg was looking for a positive result; unfortunately for the Red Lions, it was not to be as the game ended scoreless. So too did the other game in the group, Belarus at home to Northern Ireland: as a result, there was no change in the group table, with Luxembourg still in fourth place with just one point.

Played at the Hristo Botev Stadium in Plovdiv, Luxembourg made three changes to their starting lineup, with Eldin Dzogovic, Maxime Chanot and Enes Mahmutovic making way for Michael Pinto, Seid Korac and Alessio Curci.

The Slovenian referee, David Šmajc, got the match underway and managed to brandish a total seven yellow cards in the first half alone, with another five in the second half.

At the start of the second half, Alessio Curci made way for Gerson Rodrigues, with Kevin d'Anzico replacing Michael Pinto fifteen minutes later. The home team made four substitutions of their own in an effort to break the deadlock, with Marvin Martins on for Dirk Carlson as the game went into time added on, but to no avail: neither side could find the net and the end result was stalemate.

The game's statistics showed that it was a fairly even contest, with both teams having seven shots each on goal; Bulgaria had marginally more possession (52%) and forced Luxembourg's goalkeeper into making three saves, while the visitors did not trouble the home goalkeeper all match.

Luxembourg's next game is tomorrow, Tuesday 15 October 2024, at home to Belarus in the Stade de Luxembourg (kick-off at 20:45).
