The 14th "hybrid" edition of CinEast, the Central and Eastern European Film Festival in Luxembourg, which took place from 8 to 24 October 2021, attracted more than 7,500 participants.
The "physical” part of the festival, which ended on Sunday and featured more than 110 screenings in ten cinemas in the Grand Duchy, drew in 4,630 spectators. The “online” part, which will remain available until Sunday 7 November 2021, has so far recorded more than 1,600 views. More than 6,400 spectators attended the school screenings.
In addition, more than 1,100 people took part in the special festival events and several hundred people visited the free photography exhibition “Dreams of Escape” in Neumünster Abbey.
The two festival websites (the official website www.cineast.lu and the CinEast Online Cinema and ticketing platform cineast.eventive.org) received more than 40,000 visits.
Regarding the festival's charitable project (support for a non-profit association helping underprivileged children in Romania), festivalgoers have already raised more than €1,700. The project continues with the sale of photographs from the “Dreams of Escape” exhibition.
