On Monday 4 August 2025, Luxembourg-based production company Red Lion SARL announced that Linda, Linda!, the third short film by Luxembourgish-Iranian writer-director Kiyan Agadjani, will premiere at the HollyShorts 21 Film Festival in Los Angeles (United States) on Wednesday 13 August 2025.

According to the announcement, the short film will feature in the Golden Age Shorts category and will be followed by a Q&A session with the writer-director Kiyan Agadjani.

The production sees a former bank robber in Luxembourg, Linda (Claire Johnston), longing for her turbulent past. When one day her former partner-in-crime Tony (Nicholas Gecks) reappears, she is faced with a choice: to do one last job or to send him to hell.

Shot entirely on analogue film, Kiyan Agadjani said the catchphrase to pitch the film was “What if Bonnie and Clyde broke up and grew old?”

In describing the film, the director said: “I was never interested in squealing tires and smoking barrels when making Linda, Linda! This is a film about beautiful flowers and small-town neighbours. It is a film about elderly people and their dreams, about men and women, about language barriers and ultimately about two humans attempting to reconnect after almost half a century apart.”

Born in Luxembourg to Iranian parents, Kiyan Agadjani’s second short film Arman & Elisa won the award for Best Short at the Austin Film Festival in 2023, qualifying the director for the 2025 Academy Awards.
