On Friday evening, the 2nd annual Nordic Film Festival concluded in Luxembourg with the screening of the Norwegian black comedy In Order of disappearance.
Before the screening, the Consul General of Norway in Luxembourg, Christine Doerner, addressed the packed screening room and thanked the organisers and attendees, and
Geoff Thompson, festival organiser, thanked the sponsors and volunteeres and gave a brief recap of the festival which included films from Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland and Norway. He announced the winner of the Audience Award being The Absent One (Denmark), with Simun Anderbergh being presented with the Audience Prize of return flight tickets to Stockholm or Copenhagen for 2 with Luxair.
The Icelandic Double Bill on Thursday evening had included a Skype Q&A with Agust Gudmundsson after the screening of his film Spooks and Spirits in which he stated that many people in Iceland believe in ghosts.
Friday's closing screening of In Order of Disappearance was extremely well received by the enthusiastic audience, and may have run The Absent One close for the Audience Prize had it been in competition.
The Nordic Film Festival, as well as the annual British & Irish Film Season to be held from 21 September to 2 October this year, is organised by G-Media sarl, publisher of The Luxembourg Chronicle.
