Thursday marked the signature of the COPIL Natura 2000 "Mëllerdall" charter of collaboration in Luxembourg.

On 6 June 2019, Luxembourg Minister of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development Carole Dieschbourg, together with the members of the steering committee, signed the charter of collaboration of the Steering Committee (COPIL) Natura 2000 "Mëllerdall".

With the signature of the collaboration charter of the Natura 2000 Steering Committee "Mëllerdall", this COPIL becomes the fourth to be set up after those of the "Old mining sites", "Éislek" and "Atert-Warkdall".

Chaired by Jean-Pierre Arend, district chief of the Forest and Nature Administration who worked closely with Naturpark Mëllerdall, the COPIL "Mëllerdall" areas have a rich and varied biodiversity, numerous rivers and natural, historical and cultural heritage. These serve as multifunctional spaces with the development of various activities such as agriculture and forestry, tourism or recreational and sports activities. It is therefore essential to involve all the main actors in the sustainable management of these sites.
