As the initiators of the “third industrial revolution” strategy in Luxembourg, the Ministry of the Economy, the Chamber of Commerce and IMS Luxembourg have just started, in collaboration with the Chamber of Employees, an inventory and status of locations of projects carried out or initiated as part of the “Rifkin” study since its launch in 2016.

Resulting from a multidisciplinary approach four years ago, the Rifkin study as well as the avenues and orientations informed thereon have served as a common thread for government action and various private initiatives to prepare Luxembourgish society and the economy for digitalisation, decarbonisation and efficient use of resources, as well as new business models, including the circular economy.

In line with the collaborative and participatory approach of the third industrial revolution project, members of the country's civil and economic life who have carried out or launched a project, plan or action contributing to one of the strategic measures corresponding to one of the nine pillars of the Rifkin report (energy, mobility, construction, food, industry, finance, smart economy, circular economy and prosumers and social model) are invited to complete the online form available on the tirlux.lu website. The questionnaire will be available until the end of January 2021.

The inventory of all the projects and the state of play of their progress are part of the work of strategic analyses and forward thinking carried out within the Ministry of the Economy by the “Luxembourg Strategy” unit which is responsible for drawing up long-term strategies for economic development and transition integrating social and environmental aspects.
