The Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg has announced that it is organising a Chinese New Year extravaganza in the heart of Luxembourg City on Saturday 25 January 2025.

The event is being organised in collaboration with the Union Commerciale de la Ville de Luxembourg (UCVL) and the Galeries Lafayette Luxembourg, to celebrate Chinese New Year and ring in the Year of the Snake in style.

A variety of stands demonstrating traditional Chinese arts and pastimes will be set up in Place d'Armes from 13:00 to 15:00, encouraging attendees to try Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting and a host of other activities. This unique Chinese experience will also see Chinese food being served, a guaranteed treat for the taste buds.

The Chinese New Year would not be complete without the traditional dragon parade. To put on a spectacular show, the Confucius Institute has joined forces with the Paris-based Association Française de Danse du Dragon et Lion Chinois (AFDDLC), which has brought together a talented team of Chinese martial arts specialists from across Europe, especially from Luxembourg, France (École Wuxing in Moselle) and Belgium (TAOREN Académie). The performance will start at 15:00.
