Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture, together with the Ministry of Culture and Communications of Quebec, has announced that the Minister of Culture, Sam Tanson, and the Minister of Culture and Communications of Quebec, Nathalie Roy, have signed an agreement that aims to support cooperation and cultural exchanges between Luxembourg and Quebec.

Through this agreement, the government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the government of Quebec have formalised their desire to strengthen their cooperation in the field of culture and accelerate its long-term development, in particular by the organisation of events, by the exchange of expertise, through the circulation of works and artists or through the development of partnerships between cultural institutions on both sides.

During the meeting between the two ministers, Minister Tanson recalled that many relations already exist between Luxembourg and Quebec in cultural and creative matters, both at the level of artists and institutional partnerships. She was therefore delighted that “the agreement now provides a formal framework for this shared creativity and opens the way for new transatlantic cultural collaborations with Quebec, with whom we share an unwavering enthusiasm for the promotion of a culture of exchange, dialogue and discoveries."

The signing of this very first agreement on culture marks an important step in the relationship between Quebec and Luxembourg. This agreement will facilitate the emergence of mutually beneficial projects, which will help energise our respective cultural landscapes on both sides of the Atlantic. The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg can certainly count on Quebec as an ally for which culture is a priority" stated Nathalie Roy, Minister of Culture and Communications of Quebec.

Highlights

• The agreement covers all cultural sectors (performing arts, digital arts, visual arts, cinema, books, music, etc.).
