The Maltese art exhibition “Vanishing Valetta” will arrive at Neimenster in Luxembourg from Friday 10 March 2017, starting at 18:00.

To mark the beginning of Spring, the Abbaye de Neumunster is hosting a series of Maltese art and cultural events as part of the cultural programme of the Maltese presidency of the Council of the EU this year.

The series of events will begin with the vernissage of Maltese photographer David Pisani’s exhibition “Vanishing Valletta”, which portrays the transformation of the narrow streets of the capital Valetta over time through black and white photographs.

This is the second Maltese exhibition presented by the Abbaye following “Isle Landers”, which illustrated Malta’s recent history with the migrant tragedy. The vernissage of this latest exhibition, that of Pisani, will be followed by a choir concert by the Ensemble Vocal International de Luxembourg.

Moreover, on Sunday 12 March, singer Nadine Axsia and her band will perform a Maltese Jazz concert. On the occasion, she will present her new album “Velvet”.

Other events on this cultural programme include the contemporary piano recital entitled “Gabi Sultana”, to take place on Thursday 16 March, and a literary encounter with Maltese authors Glenn Calleja, Antoine Cassar and Farah Abdi, entitled “Nuit littéraire maltaise”, on Saturday 18 March.

All the above events are free of charge.

Tickets for the vernissage of “Vanishing Valetta” and the concert which follows should be reserved at contact@neimenster.lu or billeterie@neimenster.lu
