The Centre des Arts PLuriels Ettelbrück (CAPe) today revealed the programme for its 2015-16 season, featuring world premieres, new musical and theatrical productions and a novel a cappella festival.
CAPe was first opened in 2000 and has since contributed music, theatre, dance and visual arts productions to the cultural life of Luxembourg and the Greater Region. The association is now celebrating its 15th anniversary, unveiling a new design and an extended programme for the upcoming season.
Highlights include the Broadway musical comedy 'Cabaret', the stage original of the eight-time Oscar award-winning film starring Liza Minnelli, which will be brought to the stage on 5 February 2016 by l'Opéra de Chambre de Cologne, as well as the newly-launched 'CAPE'lla Festival' to showcase various voices, the most natural musical instrument of mankind.
For the 15th anniversary, CAPe has also asked young Luxembourgish musician Tatsiana Zelianko to compose a piece, the world premiere of which will be performed by the Kammermusekveräin Lëtzebuerg during their 'Hummel & Zeitgenossen' concert on 14 October 2015. In the context of highlighting the musical talents of Luxembourgish youth, young multidisciplinary artist Michel Feinen will be creating an audio-visual installation at the Foyer.
Due to demand, the CAKU programme organised in collaboration with the Maison de la Culture de Mersch has been expanded from 14 to 19 representations to offer further educational sessions for youth aged 0-12 years. Other art forms have also been catered to, with salsa courses offered in June 2016 as part of the Noche Latinam and a SinCityPics photography contest, organised in collaboration with the Luxembourg Centre for Architecture (LUCA) and Nordstad to allow photography enthusiasts of varying capabilities to depict their wn perception of urban life in the six communities of Nordstad.
