The University of Luxembourg is hosting a workshop on the relationship between patients and health professionals and the transformative effects on that relationship of social media.
Social media are increasingly used by patients seeking health information and involved in their care. Despite the exciting possibilities, challenges such as an overwhelming and conflicting body of information, a variable level of health and digital literacy among the population, and confidentiality and data security, need to be addressed.
This workshop will offer a panorama of current social media applications and explore the perspectives of the health care professionals and the patients.
The session is aimed at healthcare professionals and patients with an interest in the topic. The workshop is organised as a pre-conference of the Med-e-Tel 2017 conference on 5 to 7 April and takes place from 13.30 to 18.30 at Luxexpo. To participate, please register by email: info@medetel.eu.
