Yesterday evening, the business incubator and co-workign space NYUKP completed a cycle of four entrepreneurship training sessions to BTS students.
Initiated through the intermediary of Jonk Entrepreneuren, this training course aims to introduce the method of the Business Model Canvas to students of the Lycée Technique Ecole de Commerce et de Gestion, the Lycée Technique des Arts et Métiers and the Lycée Technique d'Ettelbruck. A strategic recogniced method for developing a business plan, the Business Model Canvas ensures that all aspects of the business model are taken into account and that the project is viable.

As part of their entrepreneurship courses, students must present to their teacher a business plan for a business idea. Nicolas Valaize, project manager at nyuko, presented the Business Model Canvas and operation. After speaking about a concrete business case, students were invited to test the tool on their own project. Several ideas were put forward: an organic restaurant, a matchmaking service between babysitters and relatives, automatic distributors, etc. Students were able to identify the potential vulnerabilities of their project and the training helps show how to alleviate the weaknesses. Some even discovered new potential sources of income.
The students have appreciated the concrete and participatory training. "It's interesting to see directly the result of his work. If one day I have the idea to start a business, I'll start with this method," said Jeff, one of the students.
The training for students is part of the nyuko initiative to propel entrepreneurship in all sectors and to all ages. "Entrepreneurship should be viewed as a viable alternative to a job in a large corporation. In this context, these courses offered to students are part of the evangelisation of good business practice in Luxembourg," said Nicolas Valaize.
