On Thursday 23 July 2015 the President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Henri Malosse, will meet the Prime Minister of Luxembourg,Xavier Bettel, the Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, and the President of the Economic and Social Council, Pascale Toussing.
 
During the visit, EESC President Malosse will discuss the priorities of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the EU. The Luxembourg presidency has expressed its commitment to promoting the social economy and social entrepreneurship at the European level in the context of inclusive growth, quality job creation and social cohesion. The Presidency has already requested the EESC to work on an exploratory opinion on "Building a financial eco-system for social enterprises" and is planning to organise a major conference with stakeholders of social economy during its term.
 
In their meetings during the visit, EESC President Malosse will also emphasise the need to build a more social, cohesive Europe, the need to invest in education and training and the importance of listening to civil society as a pre-requisite for a more vibrant European democracy.
