As part of its 40th anniversary, ASTI, the association for migrant workers in Luxembourg, has published a book featuring a collection of works of Luxembourgish cartoonist Guy Stoos.
The book "ASTI et GUY W. STOOS : 40 ans de route partagée" uses the works of Guy Stoos, whose selected caricatures are related to the association's struggles and demands, and serves as a tribute to all those who have supported ASTI over the past four decades.
According to ASTI, Guy Stoos' drawings trace ASTI's history which has been characterised by scandal, highlighting the non-functioning of integration, the derailments of policies and the contradictions and injustices of measures taken. ASTI has expressed the desire to honour Guy Stoos' commitment through this book, while tracing through the published cartoons, the eventful history of the claims and injustices pinned by the association.
ASTI has also described the book publication as a way of paying tribute to the fight of caricaturists across the world who often risk their lives to take a satirical look at the political and social situation of their countries.
The book, written in Luxembourgish and French, costs €19 and is distributed by Librarie Ernster.
