The Association Luxembourgeoise de la Presse Cinématographique (Luxembourg Association of Film Critics) helpd their AGM on Wednesday evening in Luxembourg-Dommeldange and voted Birdman by Alejandro González Iñárritu as their Film of 2015.
Members had been given the list of 273 films that had been screened on general release in the Grand Duchy during 2015, from which to choose their top five films. At Wednesday's meeting they then were presented with the Top 5 list, with Birdman the critics' choice after three rounds of voting.
The Top 5 were:
- Birdman by Alejandro González Iñárritu
- Son of Saul byLaszlo Nemes
- Youth by Paolo Sorrentino
- Whiplash by Damien Chazelle
- Mad Max: Fury Road by George Miller
Birdman is about a former popular actor's struggle to cope with his current life as a wasted actor.
The ALPC was created in 2014 by a group of journalists, fullt-time and freelancers, working regularly in the field of film critique. It currently has 24 members working in the written press, radio, television and online.
