On Thursday 11 December 2025, the Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss, which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable individuals, reported that it recently received support from Parkinson Luxembourg Asbl.

A dozen volunteers from Parkinson Luxembourg handed over two cars filled with scarves, hats and socks to Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss. According to the latter, this donation addresses the growing need for warm clothing at Stëmm vun der Strooss as temperatures drop and poverty increases.

The meeting was also an opportunity to highlight the rising number of visitors to the Stëmm vun der Strooss social restaurants in Luxembourg-Hollerich, Esch-sur-Alzette and Ettelbruck. More than 700 meals are served there every day, from Monday to Friday, as well as every second weekend, illustrating the pressure on frontline services.

"These donations come at exactly the right time. They allow us to respond quickly and with dignity to the needs of the people we support," emphasised Alexandra Oxacelay. "The Kleederstuff [workshops] enable our clients to dress according to the season and for key moments in life - job interviews, court hearings, housing searches - and help restore confidence and dignity."

The Kleederstuff workshops, supplied by donations from private individuals and by collections from schools and companies, distribute clothing free of charge to people in need. This work, carried out by a team benefiting from a professional reintegration measure, requires careful organisation and provides a structured environment, according to Stëmm vun der Strooss.
