On Thursday evening, the Cercle Munster in Luxembourg-Grund hosted the launch the Diplomatic Council Luxembourg Mission.

The organisation is described as a United Nations accredited, non-governmental global think-tank, with Andreas Dripke (CEO, Diplomatic Council) and Hang Nguyen (Secretary General, Diplomatic Council) both in Luxembourg for the launch. They addressed the 60-strong group of invited guests, along with Noelle van Lonkhuyzen and Francis Hoogewerf who were instrumental in bringing the initiative to the Grand Duchy and are known as the Permanent Representatives Diplomatic Council Luxembourg.

As President, Francis Hoogewerf got the event underway and explained that the organisation is headquarted in Wiesbaden, Germany, with accreditation by the United Nations. He confirmed that an absl was set up last week as a junior feeder organisation to the world body. Apart from Noelle van Lonkhuyzen and Francis Hoogewerf, other members of the Luxembourg Mission board include Alexander Bremin, Gregory Tugendhat, Michael Chamier and both Andreas Dripke and Hang Nguyen.

The Diplomatic Council is a global think-tank and business network - founded 4.5 years ago - in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ESOSOC) of the United Nations, founded with the objective to serve as a common platform for Diplomacy, Economy and Society. Members of the Diplomatic Council firmly believe that economic diplomacy provides a solid foundation for international understanding and a more peaceful interaction amongst nations.

Hang Nguyen (Secretary General, Diplomatic Council) explained that the organisation is built on three pillars: a global think-tank, a global network and charity; she stressed the aim of promotion of understanding. DC is represented by diplomats, business leaders and personalities from society, i.e. people who open doors, forming a unique and first-class network. DC Diplomats give insights into their countries and cultures.

She also presented details of the DC Commission on UN Affairs and its activities and benefits, as well as general DC membership. Their mission is to promote global business relations, to encourage international understanding, to enhance intercultural exchanges and to gain economic prosperity.

Andreas Dripke (CEO, Diplomatic Council) talked about the networking side of the organisation.
