Lidl Luxembourg and the staff delegations have announced the signing of a new Collective Labour Agreement (CCT) for the period 2026 to 2028.

The new agreement aims to develop Lidl Luxembourg’s retail sector, through tangible support for purchasing power while offering a better work-life balance.

The series of new financial measures will include:

  • the introduction of meal vouchers, with employees becoming eligible after one year of service and receiving vouchers worth €6.80;

  • a salary guarantee, with Lidl committing to maintain wage differentials in the event of an increase in the social minimum wage (SSM) to ensure lasting fairness for all;

  • enhanced bonuses, with the half-yearly bonus becoming a quarterly payment and reaching up to 150% of its base amount for the most present employees;

  • greater recognition of responsibilities, with the monthly “Head Cashier” bonus increasing to €150.00 for full-time staff.

Along with the financial measures, Lidl Luxembourg will now offer greater flexibility and rest, such as:

  • extended seniority leave, with the leave scale broadened so that employees with 25 years of service receive six additional days of leave and those with 30 years receive eight additional days;

  • three additional days of rest under the Work Organisation Plan (POT), giving teams more breathing space in their schedules;

  • support at the end of career through the introduction of progressive early retirement, allowing for a smoother transition into retirement.

According to Lidl, the work organisation period will be extended to three months, to provide better visibility over schedules, targeting to enable employees to better anticipate their working hours and balance their personal lives more effectively.

The success of Lidl is, above all, the work of our employees on the ground. With this new agreement, our priority was simple: to give back purchasing power and rest time. It is an essential step to ensure that everyone feels valued and supported in their daily work,” said Denys Vandenrijt, Director at Lidl Luxembourg.
