On Thursday 15 January 2026, the Cactus Group announced changes to its governance structure, including the creation of a Supervisory Board and an Executive Committee, as well as the decision of Laurent Schonckert to step down as managing director.

Led by the Leesch family, the evolution of the governance structure aims to ensure a clear strategic vision, strengthened operational management and closer ties with the business, for the benefit of customers, employees and the group's partners and suppliers. According to the group, the changes are consistent with Cactus' family model and founding values, and support its distribution, restaurant and production activities.

The Supervisory Board (CoSur) is tasked with supporting the group's strategy and ensuring sound governance of its activities. It is composed of members of the Leesch family, as well as Laurent Schonckert and Laurent Turping.

After more than 40 years with Cactus, including 25 years as managing director, Laurent Schonckert is stepping down from his operational role. He stated: "This decision marks the end of a particularly enriching professional chapter for me. I have had the privilege of working with partners and suppliers whose commitment, loyalty and professionalism have greatly contributed to the success of the Cactus Group." He added that he will continue to serve the group as a member of the Supervisory Board and as a director on the boards of various companies within the group, stressing that he will "remain committed to maintaining our relationship and to fostering a collaboration based on the values that have always guided Cactus: respect, transparency, quality and the spirit of true partnership". The Leesch family acknowledged his "crucial contribution" to the group's development and success.

The Executive Committee (ComEx) is responsible for implementing the strategy and managing the group's operational activities. It represents the main business lines and operates through a collegial governance structure, closely aligned with operational realities.

Through this new organisation, the Leesch family said they are reaffirming their commitment to the development of the Cactus group. Members of the third generation are now involved in several strategic roles, contributing to the transmission of values and the sustainability of the family model.
