The Grand Ducal Police have reported that officers responded to about 40 cases of disputes, fights and noisiness on the night of Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 January 2025.

The police assured that the situation was resolved on the spot in most cases.

For example, shortly before 01:00, the police received reports of a man on Route de Luxembourg in Pétange who was harassing customers in a bar and refused to leave. A police patrol went to the scene and found a man who was "obviously drunk". Due to his condition and because he was disturbing public order, he was taken into custody after a medical examination.

On Sunday morning, a rioter was reported on Boulevard Prince Henri in Esch-sur-Alzette. When a police patrol arrived, he refused to calm down despite repeated requests from the officers. He became increasingly aggressive towards the officers, who determined that the man was "heavily intoxicated". He too was taken into custody after a medical examination.
