On Tuesday 26 August 2025, the Stëmm vun der Strooss charity invited its beneficiaries - the homeless and vulnerable members of society - as it does every year, to have an excursion to this year's Schueberfouer.
Accompanied by the manager of Stëmm, Charles Bechet, educators Sarah Boussong and Cécile Teutsch, and other volunteers, participants arrived at the Glacis at around 12:00. They headed for the various attractions, rides on which the association was able to offer thanks to donations collected throughout the year. This year it took around €10,000 to sponsor the event.
According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, this excursion is always eagerly awaited and it was therefore no surprise that the registration list was filled within a few days, with a higher number of participants than expected. Charles Bechet explained to Chronicle.lu that last year's event attracted 100-150 participants, but this year the number rose to more than 200 people, each of whom received three funfair tickets and lunch at a restaurant.
After trying out the amusement rides under the blazing sun, it was time to regain strength at around 15:00 at the restaurant Kessel where they were invited for the ninth year in a row, and those attending were treated to a hot meal from the menu.
As every year, this outing offered a special moment to people in need, who were able to forget for a while the problems of everyday life. "People are always very excited about this event. We organise two excursions per year, along with the Christmas party, and these occasions are very special," said Cécile Teutsch of the Stëmm vun der Strooss.
