The Grand Ducal Police have reported that officers apprehended a suspected drug dealer in Luxembourg-Gare on Thursday 15 August 2024.
That evening, a police patrol noticed a group of people near Avenue de la Gare in the Luxembourg-Gare district. One of the men, upon seeing the officers, signalled the other two to leave and then quickly walked towards Rue Jean Origer. The officers intercepted him at Place de Paris, where they discovered several plastic capsules in his mouth.
Despite their efforts to prevent it, the suspect managed to swallow several of the capsules. In total, 24 capsules were seized. The public prosecutor's office ordered his arrest and a medical examination. During transport, the suspect admitted to having swallowed five capsules. He is scheduled to appear before the examining magistrate on the morning of 16 August 2024.
