A teenager was robbed at knifepoint whilst waiting for a bus in Luxembourg City Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at around 07:45, as the adolescent in question was waiting for his school bus in front of an apartment building along Rue Bender. As he was waiting, he was approached by a man who asked him for a cigarette, whilst a second man appeared to wait just in front of the building entrance.

When the young man claimed to not have any cigarettes to offer, the man pulled out a knife and demanded in Luxembourgish that the victim hand over his mobile and wallet. Fearing the repercussions, the adolescent did so.

The police are now on the lookout for the offenders, based on a description given by the victim:

- The man who made the threat reportedly wore a black jacker, black hat and dark shoulder bag. He was thought to be around 25 years old and approximately 1.80 metres tall.
- The man near the building entrance was wearing a red jacket and a hat and had a short, blond beard. He was also described as near 25 years old with a height of 1.80 metres.
