A man has died after having been struck across the head by heavy material whilst working on a construction site.
The incident occurred just after 13:00 on Tuesday 9 February 2016 in Luxembourg City, during the country's bout of strong wind speeds of between 90 km/h and 110 km/h. These intense gusts loosened one of several bundles of insulation mats which were stacked on the rooftop of a building along Rue Lucien Wercollier, hitting one construction worker on the head who was working three storeys below.
The man was initially rushed to hospital in critical condition, and the Grand Ducal Police have now reported that the victim passed away on Monday evening.
