Two men and one woman were caught attempting to shoplift in a Sandweiler supermarket mid-afternoon yesterday, Monday 15 February.
The offenders were seen picking out cigarette packages by the cashier whilst waiting in line at the checkout. When the cigarettes did not appear with the other items being purchased the cashier called for the manager.
Two of the suspects were apprehended by the staff at first before handing over three packets of cigarettes and one pouch of tobacco. They later escaped in a car which was later spotted crossing the border.
