On Friday, the Luxembourg cabinet approved the details of the new family planning benefits which is to go before parliament this coming week: the main details are as followS:
- a single premium of €265 will be payable for every child entering the social security system
- increasing the age bonus from €20 to €50
- the return-to-school allowances will now be €115 and €235
- increase in benefits for thos aged 18+, but a reduction in the maximum age from 27 to 24 years
- increase the special allowance from €185.60 to €200, with the age limit set at 18 years
- a limit of 12 months is being applied for the claiming of arrears
