On Thursday, the Heriditary Grand Duke and Heriditary Grand Duchess met with veterans of the Second World War for a round-table discussion with students, at the Grand Ducal Palace.

This meeting was a continuation of the participation of Their Royal Highnesses in the day commemorating the end of the Second World War in Paris on 8 May 2015. To highlight this experience and make it more real thanks to testimonies, they allowed students of the Lycée technique de Bonnevoie who participated in the commemorative day of 8 May in Paris to meet Johny Schmidt and Gerd Klestadt, two survivors from the Second World War, accompanied by Steve Kayser, director of the Documentation and Research Centre on Forced Recruitment (CDREF).

In appreciation, the students presented to TRH the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Heiress guidance text they recited before the plaque commemorating Jean-Michel Thill in Paris.

They were accompanied by two teachers, Ludowicy and Brücher, and also Jean-Marie Wirtgen, Director of the Lycée technique de Bonnevoie (LTB).
